What is the purpose of the WIP Fund?

The WIP Fund is a funding opportunity for early career filmmakers who are passionate about bold storytelling through innovative filmmaking. We support projects that align with Born By A River’s focus on author-driven work, innovation, and intersectional perspectives.

Who can apply for the WIP Fund Open Call?

Born By A River accepts submissions for narrative fiction films only (runnning time 10 minutes or less) from Camden-based filmmakers, focusing on the locality where Born By A Rive has its offices. Applicants can be individual writer and director pairings, a sole writer-director and may or may not have a producer attached.

The open call does nto support student films, documentary films, commissioned films where the filmmaker is not the rights holder to the project, episodic series, new media (AR, VR), podcasts, films that have already premiered or broadcast, or impact campaigns.
